Internal/External Adaptor Seal I/E.A. Seal

Remove protective wrap from seal:

Use CAUTION not to cut into seal.

Apply butyl tape to bottom of seal.

Pull the rubber sleeve down on the

outside of the adjusting rings to the

top of the corbel.

Install the S.S. band on the bottom edge of the Sleeve.

NO SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED.

Align seal on outside edge of adjusting rings and press down on seal for

the butyl to adhere.

I/E.A. Seal includes: seal, S.S. band and clamp, Butyl tape and casting sleeve.

Place seal on clean & dry top

Adjusting ring.

Place the casting on an angle on top of the seal, with the vertical flange of the seal

on the inside wall of the casting. Push

 the vertical flange in from the outside.

Pull vertical flange down by white mark & remove the protective wrap from the 1” butyl tape between the vertical flange & frame.

Pull casting sleeve down around the outside of the frame & chimney. Allow 2” to lap over the flange of the frame.

Note: Allow 3/4” for the I/E.A.Seal plus the height of the manhole frame for the final adjustment.

Example: If the frame is 10” Plus 3/4” for the seal, figure 10 3/4” from finish grade to the top adjusting ring.
